キシノウエトカゲは、八重山諸島、宮古諸島に分布しています。これらの地域の固有種です。海岸林などに生息し、普通に見かけるトカゲです。成長すると全長が40cm程度に達する大型のトカゲです。

Kishinoue's blue-tailed skink ( Plestiodon kishinouyei ) is distributed in the Yaeyama Islands and Miyako Islands. The main habitat is the shore forest. It is the large lizard that full length becomes around 40cm.
