ハブ　（トカゲ目クサリヘビ科）　Protobothrops flavoviridis 英名 (English name)　Habu

ハブは毒ヘビとして有名で、おそれられています。全長100cm～200cmほどです。奄美諸島、沖縄諸島に分布し、人家周辺から山地森林まで生息します。また地上だけでなく、樹上にもよく登ります。主に小型哺乳類、鳥類を捕食します。奄美大島のハブは、沖縄産より体の黒班が大きいようです。

Habu ( Protobothrops flavoviridis ) is poisonous snake. The total length is about 100 cm to 200 cm. It is distributed in the Amami Islands and the Okinawa Islands. It mainly preys on small mammals and birds.
