タイワンキンギョ　（スズキ目ゴクラクキンギョ科）　Macropodus opercularis 英名 (English name)　Paradise fish

タイワンキンギョは、全長5cm程度です。沖縄島、沖永良部島に分布します。国外では中国福建省以南、台湾、東南アジアなどに分布します。水田、池、用水路など、水草が茂った場所に生息しています。以前見られた場所でも姿を消したりしており、生息する水域の減少が懸念されます。

Total length of Paradise fish ( Macropodus opercularis ) is about 5 cm. It is distributed on Okinawa Island and Okinoerabu Island. It is also distributed south of Fujian, China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, etc. It inhabits aquatic plants such as paddy fields, ponds, and irrigation canals. There is concern that the habitat will decrease.
